I think I like it here.

My job is going wonderfully! I have been so blessed to be given this opportunity I still can't believe it. I had looked for so long I almost had myself convinced I wouldn't get hired by a good company (especially since we are gone for 3 weeks in July).

And I totally did.

Squire & Company, PC is a tax, audit, and advisory company. They are a great organization who care deeply about their services, clients, and employees. I have been impressed with them since the first day I looked at their website and continue to be impressed daily. The employees are giving, understanding, knowledge, and caring. They've really got it down.

I am learning so many new things every day. I am the assistant in the technology and business advisory under 2 CPA's. That means I get to learn a little bit of everything. Ok, actually A LOT of everything. Just before I started they received a pretty big client and the other assistant couldn't handle all the work load. After being there for a month and having to work some 12 hour days myself, I can definitely see that I was needed (isn't it great to be needed? hehe). I am still so new to everything that we do but try every day to be better and grow. The people I work with and bug with my questions constantly are always nice and teach me so I understand. I felt pretty overwhelmed for a while but realized what wonderful people I have around me. What a blessing that is in itself.

I really could go on but that about sums it up.

Work is busy but good.
I'll be grateful when tax season is over.

I am learning constantly and don't think I'll ever stop.
I love that.

I get to utilize my skills and develop a whole slew of new ones.

Yeah... I think I like it here.

Weekend Getaway

Last weekend Fez and I took a little getaway to this place.

Zermatt Resort in Midway

It was a much needed vacation away from school and work. It was so nice to do whatever, whenever just because we could... And we don't even have kids yet! Fez's mother gave us a package deal with 2 nights, 2 breakfasts, dinner, and a spa certificate. It was SO nice! The food is excellent (especially the Sunday Brunch... A.m.a.z.i.n.g.). Thanks Glenna!

We went shopping at the Outlets and it sure was the weekend to go. There were deals everywhere! I got snow pants that are originally over $100 for $25! We got some other clothes for great prices and then we ate at a yummy Chinese restaurant called Schezwan.

We were sad to come back to "real life" but the show must go on. It was a good recharge to get us through the next month (tax season at work for me and school for Fez). Then, on to summer!

many faces

After returning home from my trip with the Fab Five to Arizona we promptly took the following pictures:

Oh yeah! Cal-Am Super Stars!!!

Going crazy after 12 hours in the car face.

Crazy excited!

I can't believe I'm putting this one on here.
Gross.

He told me a story. It was hilarious.

Of course we had to take some face shaking pictures.
This is his attempt.

My attempt.

I love random moments like these even if some of the evidence needs to be deleted rather than posted in the blog world.

Whatever... :)

Fab Five shows

Last fall I was asked by the Fab Five to fill in because one of the sisters was pregnant and couldn't dance in a set of shows they had in January. I was excited and nervous to take on the challenge of learning 9 dances in 2 months over the internet basically by myself. It was tough and I was realizing my endurance level was WAY down so I worked harder. They were all so nice and understanding to me which helped TONS. Of course they were, these ladies are amazing!

(So I'm lame and didn't take one. single. picture.
I had to steal these from Veva... Thanks Veva!)

Just before one of our 8 shows down in Arizona

Funny faces as we get ready for "Circus"

Yee-haw!
I was seriously so blessed to have this opportunity. It couldn't have come at a better time in my life. I had a part-time job so I could practice during the day and didn't have to worry about missing much work while we were gone. It gave me motivation and something to really work towards.

Growing up I had always wondered if I could ever dance and be like "the Whittear girls" and for one week I got to BE one of them. They took me in and made me feel just like I was always a part of the family. I am so, SO grateful for their friendship, kindness, love and examples.

The whole gang!!!

UVU Reunion

I'm real behind in blogging but better late than never right?

A few weeks ago there was a Student Government reunion at UVU for anyone and everyone who had been in Student Government. It was so fun to see friends I haven't seen in far too long, catching up on each others lives and laughing about our great times together. I didn't get pictures of everyone I was so happy to see but these girls are pretty much tops.

Jessica, Shelby, me and Marissa
Jess, Shelby and I were roommates our last years at UVU. SO FUN living with these girls! I'm so happy we were able to live it up in "The Hood"!
Marissa, me and Karlie
My first roomies at UVU and some of the BEST years EVER!
