Nothing to blog about...

I have been having a hard time thinking or knowing what to blog about. I have been SOOO busy with work and all the other things that rule my life that I have no time or creativity to make a post worthwhile. I was feeling bad though so I was thinking....

What is there to blog about???

Nothing.

Except for the fact ...

That my clogging team just won 2 MVP's at Nationals last weekend.

That I am going to Disneyland TOMORROW!!!

That I got a bike for my birthday and am still ridiculously clumsy at riding it.

That we go to Poland and Czech Republic in 6 weeks!

That our studio recital is tonight and I am so proud of all my dancers, LOVED this year and am kind of sad it's over. Trying not to cry...

That my husband works so hard and loves me for all that I am.

That it seems everyone is having babies.

That with all my shortcomings, laziness, and faults I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and welcomes me back again and again with open arms.

That we are going bowling with our Wolf Den in 2 weeks and they about burst with excitement when we told them.

Ok... I'll try to stop being ungrateful and selfish.

There really is A LOT to blog about.

But it will have to wait another week or 2.

Outdoor Movie Night

The managers of our apartment had a
birthday party a few weekends ago.

There was a pinata, parachute games,
a popcorn machine, and an outdoor movie.
Muppets Movie had us all giggling away.

It was a little chilly but we had our
toasty sleeping bags to keep us warm.

Already excited for the next one.

Oh Say Can you See...

What do you do when you need to have an outdoor flag ceremony so your Wolf Cub Scouts can earn their achievement?

We make one.

What's on my mind?

- First competition is over. One more until Nationals. We've started a challenge for the next 5 weeks and it's been pushing me to practice much more than I had been. So sorry for the couple living under us...

- Tax season is upon us and I've realized for my position, it is not my busy season. Weird when everyone else is working all hours of the day AND night and I get to go home at 5 with no problem. But that just means the rest of the year I don't really get a break.
Good thing I love my job!

- Hunger Games was a great 'book to movie' adaption. Just wish the camera didn't shake EVERY second.

- We got to watch niece Ellie last night. Because she lives in Arizona I have only seen her once since she's been born. It was only a few hours but it was fun to play parent for a short while.

- Seeing Ellie made me even more SUPER excited for Disneyland in only 6 weeks!

- Lunch with Marissa yesterday was such a delight. I miss seeing friends.

- My birthday is next week.

- I'm in a training at work and it is amazing. I love going to the sessions and keeping my journal to improve my mental skills. I am progressing in ways I've just talked about for a long time and it feels hopeful.

- I was only able to watch the Sunday sessions of Conference. I was sad at first but now I am getting to experience the talks one at a time and it has been slightly thrilling. Each one has it's own message for me and I am discovering them. Maybe I'll do another post on this later.

- I find myself dreaming about the future and wishing it could be here now. But I am trying to live in the present and be grateful for my blessings now. Because I am so very blessed.

1 year... and 8 days

I have been employed for 1 year and 8 days.

1 year and 8 days ago I was a temp for Burton Lumber.
It was a great to be employed at least
but was not what I wanted to keep doing.

2 months before that I had been unemployed for 9 months.
(That is 1 year and 10 months ago)
I was let go the weekend of my birthday.
I was hurt, let down, confused, insecure and lost.

3 months later Fez was let go from his job.
We were both hurt, let down, confused, insecure, and lost.

Luckily I had (have) a wonderfully supportive husband to help keep me afloat and dance to keep me occupied. He had school to focus on to get him graduated as soon as we could.

We put our faith in our Heavenly Father and tried to take it one day at a time. We leaned on each other for support but it was rocky since neither of us had much to give, let alone be receptive to it.

But we didn't give up.
Not on the world.
Not on each other.
Not on ourselves.

He started working again, then I started working again.
Then I was offered a job.
An actual full-time, grown-up, professional job.
A job at Squire & Company, PC.

And I love it.

I love where I work.
The people, the mission, the values.
Each day I want to be a better employee.
And a better person.

Two weeks ago I was told about 3 potential job possibilities.
They were ones I'd always wanted to do
and/or where I wanted to work.

But I just couldn't do it.
I am where I am supposed to be.
And even though it was a long tough road to get here,
I couldn't be more grateful for it.

I have been employed for 1 year and 8 days.
And I'm not going anywhere.

Keep with the pasta

The hubs and I went to Olive Garden last night.
I had pasta for lunch so I decided to branch out.
I'm glad we had a gift card to pay for most of our meal
because neither of us had that great entrees.
They do have great flavors but just not great quality of food.

Disappointed.
Keep with pasta when going to Olive Garden.

On a lighter note we were sat by a group of 5 old couples
celebrating 2 birthdays.

One lady was wearing this:

You could tell she was kind of like "the leader" of the group.
And it was her birthday as well.

Listening to the group talk about politics,
repeating things 17 times because they can't hear each other,
and having "another engagement to be to" was quite amusing.
They were just too cute.

Made me wonder how they all knew each other.
And made me wonder who I'll still get together with when I'm,
as birthday girl #2 put it "turning 58 reversed".

One thing for sure is I am looking forward to getting there.

In love...

We are in love... with a couch.
Seriously.
It's THE best couch I've ever sat in.
Comfy. Leather. Tall. Pretty. Comfy. Durable.
Did I mention it was comfy?

We have borderline coveted this couch since July
and have come oh so close to purchasing it twice.

Why haven't we?
Well, it's kind of pricey. For just a couch.

But you know what?
We just MIGHT get it tonight.
:)
