YES.

One year ago today I said
"YES"
to one of the greatest men I've ever known.

He had been so sneaky at getting the ring
that when he pulled it out and asked
"Will You Marry Me?"
I was shocked and could only say
"Are you serious???"
I couldn't believe it was happening already.

I then told him he had to get on his knee and ask.
That's just what you have to do.
So he got down and asked me again.
And I said
"YES"

Firehouse Chili

This past weekend our ward had a chili cook off.
It was so fun!
You could submit a dish from these 4 categories:
chili, soup, bread, and dessert

Fez and I decided to participate with a chili recipe that was sure to be a pleaser.
It has been in the family for years...
(Actually a crazy old guy adopted us as his grandkids for about an hour
a little over a year ago and emailed us this recipe because we said
we liked chili. Random...)

We've made this chili one other time and it was not spicy enough.
(Even for me and I have a wussy mouth!)
So we decided to add seeds from 5 habaneros out of the 12 the recipe calls for.
Man, oh man, did it make a difference!!!

The cook off was a success!
There was tons of delicious food to taste and our chili was gone to the last bean.
Ultimately we did not win but we still had a great time!
Maybe next year...

Just a couple things...

Here are some of my random thoughts/activities of my life the past while. Take them for what it's worth...

* I have the weirdest memory ever. I can remember a commercial, song lyrics, and dances from 12 years ago but I can't remember a conversation I had yesterday. Or what I ate for dinner last night. It can be quite frustrating and the cause for humor at times. Mostly I try for the latter.

* Fez and I have been watching LOST. I have seen up through season 4 but didn't watch a single episode of season 5. Naturally I can't watch season 6 until I do. So we've been watching them every chance we get. Season 2 is about to end which means it's going to start getting really weird. I LOVE IT.

* I love treats. I have been wanting to make cupcakes or cookies for about a week and a half now. But my hubby isn't a sweets person. This means I would eat them all. No bueno. Maybe I could wrap some up cute and take them to a neighbor...

* I am grateful for my job. Some days it's kinda boring, but others I enjoy it. I am still working on making a true identity for my position and have a lot of ideas that I really want to implement but don't think the big bosses take me seriously. Guess I'll just have to show them what I'm made of.

* I love random adventures. Going sledding at 8:00 at night, ice cream shake runs at 11, whatever it might be. I wish I did them more.

* I've thought a lot about making the simple things in life really stand out and enjoying every minute. It seems so simple but yet is so hard. I can be such a worry wart (especially about finances) but have really made an effort lately to relax and go with the flow. I am liking the results so far and hope it continues.

* My family is amazing. We are built on such a rock of solid love and complete devotion and support for each other. That has really been proven the past week and I am overcome with emotion each time I think about it. I am TRULY blessed.

* I am so out of shape. I clog every Wednesday for 2 hours and dance one Saturday a month for 8 hours but I am exhausted and my body and feet hurt for about 2 days every time. I have old running shoes that hurt my knees when I use them so I can't run to help my endurance. I am going to have to pop in a work out DVD because that's about the only exercise that will keep my motivated to do it. And next week I am going to a Zumba class. No battle.

That's about it for now. There are more things and I could elaborate on each of these forever but you don't want to read it nor do I want to write it.

One thing for sure is life is interesting. But life is good.

i heart weddings.

On 2/10/2010 one of my best friends got married!
I love going to sealings.
The sealers always give wonderful advice
and its great to reminisce of when I got married.

It was a beautiful day.
She was a gorgeous bride and he was a handsome groom.
And they are SO in love.
The pure, sweet kind.

I am so happy for her.
She has always been one of the best examples
to me of how I want to live my life.

CONGRATULATIONS
MARK AND KELSEA BRINTON!!!

Big mouth or little M&Ms?

I received a tube of mini M&M's from a friend during Christmas.
As I was eating them I let my mind wander...

How many minis equal one normal sized M&M?
How many M&M's can I fit in my mouth?
How many mini M&M's can I fit in my mouth?

I decided this should be tried out.
I counted how many were left in the container.
150.
I challenged Fez and he willingly accepted.

Well the tube has been sitting on our counter since Christmas
so last night we finally decided to try it out.

Here is the sequence of events through pictures.

Look at all that room!
150 sounds like a lot but he probably could have fit the entire tube.
Maybe even 2.

Makes me wonder what we can try next...

Who'da thought?

Normally I do posts about me and Fez and our adventures or the random things on my mind. Fez can contribute to the blog posts, but he doesn't. This is fine cause that leaves it up to me to brag about him when he doesn't want to...

Fez is going to school in Construction Management. He works as a draftsman for a residential company now. He loves his job but is excited for what the future will hold after graduating.

Last week there was a conference at SLCC called SkillsUSA. They have different contests and such to get the students involved in the conference. One of his teachers said that if they entered the drafting contest they would get extra credit. Fez saw this as an easy way of getting some extra credit so he entered.

He was given 2 hours to basically replicate some house plans. He did his thing and off he went. He wasn't able to attend the awards ceremony because he had a math test, which is too bad...

because HE WON!!!

We couldn't believe it! He was just getting some extra credit and actually won the thing. So cool! AND he gets to compete at state in March! AND if he places 1st - 4th he gets to go to Nationals!

I am so proud him! He works so hard at his job and is awesome at it! Obviously... Keep it up babe!

Oh, and if any of you are looking to design some house plans, call us up.
I know a REALLY good guy.
